Expanded Cellular IoT Security Partnership between Aeris and Bridge Alliance Now Offers Comprehensive Solution to Asian-Pacific Businesses

A collaboration between Aeris and Bridge Alliance expands, resulting in the creation of the first comprehensive, cellular IoT security solution for businesses across the Asia-Pacific region.

The partnership between Aeris Communications and Bridge Alliance has expanded to bring the Aeris IoT Watchtower to the Asia-Pacific region, marking a significant step in enhancing the security of Internet of Things (IoT) devices for enterprises across the region.

The Aeris IoT Watchtower is a fully integrated cellular IoT security platform designed to address escalating cyber threats targeting IoT devices in enterprises. It consists of two critical components - "Awareness" and "Enforcement" - delivering enterprise IoT visibility and control to detect IoT security breaches, reducing the impact of any IoT security event.

This solution, already available in the US and Europe, offers real-time protection with zero friction, requiring no special SIM cards, agents, or complex rerouting. It provides full visibility into IoT device risks across an enterprise’s deployment with continuous, real-time risk assessments and device activity insights.

The Aeris IoT Watchtower also offers tools for early detection, threat prevention, and mitigation of IoT-related cyberattacks. These have become the primary entry point for corporate cyber threats, according to Forrester research. The solution supports enterprises in meeting operational efficiency and regulatory compliance needs through ongoing device insights and risk monitoring.

The Asia-Pacific region, excluding China, is expected to nearly double its connected cellular IoT devices by 2030, reaching significant scale. This growth emphasises the critical need for improved IoT security. Bridge Alliance CEO Dr. Ong Geok Chwee described the launch as “a milestone in enhancing security for the IoTA platform,” highlighting the enhanced security posture enabled by this partnership.

PCCW Global’s SVP of IoT noted that the service enables spotting illegal traffic and creating safer digital experiences rather than merely connecting devices. The global number of cellular IoT connections is expected to grow at a 16% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the next three years.

The partnership is an extension of an existing one, where Aeris provides cellular IoT connectivity management services to participating Bridge Alliance Member Operators (BMOs) via the Aeris IoT Accelerator (IoTA) platform. The commercial launch of Aeris IoT Watchtower in Asia-Pacific for BMOs and their customers marks the first time the solution has been introduced into the Asia-Pacific market as part of a robust cellular IoT security offering.

In summary, the expansion brings the world’s first fully integrated cellular IoT security solution to APAC enterprises, enhancing their ability to protect IoT deployments from sophisticated cyber threats through an easy-to-deploy, agentless platform, operating over Bridge Alliance’s extensive network ecosystem.

  1. The Aeris IoT Watchtower, a fully integrated cellular IoT security platform, uses data-and-cloud-computing to deliver enterprise IoT visibility and control, addressing escalating cyber threats targeting IoT devices in businesses.
  2. This technology-driven solution, now available in the Asia-Pacific region, offers tools for early detection, threat prevention, and mitigation of IoT-related cyberattacks, which have become the primary entry point for corporate cyber threats according to Forrester research.
